The Beinecke Library Announces 25 Fellowships for Visiting Postdoctoral Scholars
New Haven, Conn. – The Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library is pleased to announce the 25 recipients of its visiting postdoctoral scholar fellowships for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Each year, postdoctoral researchers from across the country and around the world apply for the visiting scholar fellowships, which support postdoctoral or equivalent research in the library’s collections. The month-long fellowships provide scholars who live outside the New Haven area access to the library. They pay for travel to and from New Haven and a living allowance of $4,000.
“We offer our congratulations to this class of fellows, which was selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates,” says Kevin Repp, the Beinecke Library’s curator modern European book and manuscripts, and the director of the fellowship program. “The remarkable variety of their research topics reflects the richness and scope of the Beinecke’s collections. We are excited to help support their work and welcome them to New Haven.”
Recipients must take their fellowships between September 1, 2014 and April 30, 2015. The library will suspend the visiting scholar fellowship program during the 2015-2016 academic year when the library’s building will be closed for renovation. The program will resume for the 2016-2017 academic year.
