Renovation to Begin After 2015 Commencement
The Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library will close for a major renovation following commencement ceremonies in May 2015. The renovation will replace the Library’s 50-year-old mechanical systems and expand its research, teaching and exhibition capabilities. The Library will reopen in September 2016; its look and character fully preserved.
Library staff and collection material will be gradually relocated offsite prior to the start of renovation. Once the renovation is underway, the Library will continue to provide researchers access to its collections via a temporary reading room in the Sterling Memorial Library.
