F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1920s short story “The I. O. U.” has been published for the first time in the March 20, 2017 issue of The New Yorker.  Manuscripts for the story were acquired by the Beinecke Library in 2012; a description of the materials can be found online here: Drafts for The I. The story will also appear in I’d Die for You and Other Lost Stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald, edited by Anne Margaret Daniel, which will be published in April 2017. Anne Margaret Daniel discusses the collection with The New Yorker’s Deborah Treisman at Page Turner: “This Week in Fiction.”
