Paul B. Franklin is an independent scholar who lives and works in Paris. He earned his doctorate in art history from Harvard University in 1999. Since 2000, he has been the editor-in-chief of Étant donné Marcel Duchamp, an annual, bilingual (French and English), scholarly journal devoted to the life and work of the French-born artist. During his time at the Beinecke Library, he will prepare the forthcoming issue of the journal, which will examine the relationship between Duchamp and Katherine Dreier, one of his principal patrons.In addition to his extensive publications on Duchamp, Franklin is an active journalist. From 2000 to 2004, he was managing editor, director of research, and a regular contributor to Nest Magazine, a quarterly American review focused on interior design.
